Is All Hope Lost?

Spread the love

Is all hope lost at immigration? Hi, I'm Jim Hacking, immigration lawyer, practicing law throughout the United States out of our office here in St. Louis, Missouri. Today I'm wearing my official Hacking Immigration Law blue hoodie. You can see the new logo. I hope you like it. I know it's unusual for me to be shooting a video and also it's unusual for me to show you the back of our sweatshirt. It says that we fight for immigrants every day. I'm wearing this hoodie.

It's my Monday hoodie, my Wednesday hoodie. The days that I don't meet with clients. I'm wearing it because I want to give you hope. I know that right now it's very dark in Trumplandia. it's very dark here when it comes to immigration. We're seeing more and more denials. We're seeing more and more requests for evidence. We've seen rule change, after rule change, after rural change, all designed to make the life of immigrants harder and to make it harder to get an immigration benefit.

We just had to increase our fees for family-based Green Card cases because of this ridiculous Form I-944, Declaration of Self-Sufficiency, which if you watch our YouTube channel, you know we've been talking about for the past week.

But in this video, I want to give you hope and I want to tell you that there's still a path; there's still a way for you to get the immigration benefit that you want; there's still a way for you to be able to come and work in America; there's still a way for you to come and stay in America and get a Green Card; there's still a path to citizenship. All of these changes, although designed to hurt immigrants, I believe will ultimately have the opposite effect.

I think that after Trump leaves office, either next year or four years from now, that there will be a backlash against the anti-immigrant crowd, that immigrants will be brought back into the light and brought back into a place where they're respected for all the contributions that they make in America; and that in the interim, during this dark time, that we have to maintain hope.

We have to dream big. We have to go for the immigration benefits that we want to get. We have to join together and speak with one voice and call out hatred, call out despicable conduct by the president, call out all the people who are jumping on this anti-immigrant bandwagon and remember who they are. Because in the history books, we are going to be on the side of righteousness. We are going to be on the side of fighting for what is true and what America really stands for. These people love to drape themselves in the American flag. They don't know what the American flag stands for.

What America stands for is immigrants. It's a country built by immigrants. It's a country built by slaves. It's a country built by people who came here and fought, and scratched, and clawed. That's what I see with the immigrants that I deal with every single day.

I hope you'll join us. I was thinking today that maybe we should start selling our sweatshirts, and our t-shirts, and our pens, and everything else just at cost. Not to make money, but to just be able to share the love that we have of immigrants and the fight that we put to USCIS and to the state department that we're going to keep fighting, we're going to keep clawing, we're going to keep scratching. We're going to do everything we can to fight for immigrants every single day.

I hope that this video gives you some hope. My prayer is that you join us, that you find us in our Immigrant Home Facebook group, that you pay attention to what the administration is doing when it comes to immigration, and that you speak on behalf of immigrants, those with status those without, because at the end of the day, we're all human beings and everyone deserves the best chance in life. I'm not one of these people who wants to divide up the country, who wants to split us against each other.

We need to come together and we need to come together and speak in one voice and say we love immigrants, we fight for immigrants, and we're going to make this country great again. Thanks, everybody. Have a great day.
