Yesterday, the Obama Administration announced a temporary fix for some young people who came to the US at a very young age. Â Under the new plan, certain young people will be allowed to remain in the US and to have their deportation cases deferred.
I was interviewed by the Post-Dispatch yesterday regarding the plan and my comments were much harsher than the quote that ended up included in the piece. Â My main point is that this temporary band aid is a poor substitute to the comprehensive immigration reform that this country needs and that candidate Obama made in 2008. Â I'd be interested to hear your thoughts below.
Interestingly, my wife Amany was also interviewed by the St. Louis Beacon at the same time on the same topic. Â Amany's thoughts mirrored my own.
