Trump Says He is Stopping Green Cards

Spread the love

It's Wednesday, April 22nd, 2020 and I'm here to talk about the latest news on the president's proposed immigration ban, of course.

Two nights ago, we received a tweet from the president late night, maybe he was going to bed maybe's in the bathroom, who knows where he tweets from, but he tweets out that he's going to protect the American workers by stopping immigration temporarily to the United States.

That's the first thing that happens.

The next thing that happens is he has his regular clown press conference yesterday in the White House, where he announces that he's going to restrict immigration for 60 days and then he's going to try to protect American workers.

But there's no detail.

He's just sort of mumbling through, reading his statement.

There has been no executive orders issued, no draft orders proposed. There is no real news here.

So what we're seeing is a situation where the president is, you know, playing to his base. He's making these announcements with no real policy. The agencies haven't been consulted. None of this makes any sense.

Basically, nobody knows anything right now.

We're in a situation where we have a lunatic president who's shooting from the hip trying to make his base happy.

Now, let's remember that the embassies are closed and USCIS is all but closed. So stopping immigration has already happened in a lot of ways.

That's one thing you have to keep in mind.

The other thing is that nothing is clear right now. We need to sit tight and wait and see what he actually issues in his order.

I'm sure his little Nazi, Steven Miller, is writing policy right now to ban whatever immigrants that they can.

The administration has been asked repeatedly by reporters for details. The administration has no details because they haven't read the policy.

This is so much like the Muslim travel ban that was issued in the weeks after President Trump took office. And so we'll have to wait and see what actually is issued.

Next, we don't know what's gonna apply to people applying for citizenship or people applying for green cards.

At first, I thought there was just going to apply to people at the embassies, but it seems that they're all over the map and they don't really know who it's going to apply for.

So eventually we'll see an executive order and we'll be able to analyze it and tell you who we think it applies to.

We're looking at challenging it in the courts if it applies to certain kinds of cases that we're handling now.

This whole thing is just nothing more than a political stunt.

The only actual documentation of what the plan is has been in fundraising letters that President Trump set out his campaign sent out to his donors and to his base.

So that's really all this is. It's him playing to his base.

It's him trying to get Democrats upset.

It's him trying to get immigration advocates upset.

Of course, we have to pay attention.

But the guy's a total clown. His administration has no policy to just shoot from the hip and they make things up as they go along.

It's absolutely ridiculous.

I sure hope as hell that you do everything you can to take it out on the Republican Party and President Trump in particular when the elections come in November.

So keep paying attention and keep watching and we'll keep you educated. As soon as the order comes out, we'll be out with our analysis.

We'll tell you what legal challenges we think are available. But for now, everything is the same. The embassies are still closed, USCIS is operating slowly, and I'll just have to wait and see how this all turns out.
