Federal Judge John McConnell of the Rhode Island district court has found that the Trump administration had defied his order to restart funding for Congressionally-mandated federal programs. This is the first finding by a federal court that the Trump legal team is not following a judicial order. (The Guardian).
My prediction at the start of the Trump administration that we would see a lot of “shock and awe” activity with ICE and them trying to make “examples” of immigrants so as to instill as much fear as possible. In Miami, news reports highlight the fear in area schools after ICE visits and the deportation of a popular teacher.

Pope Francis has authored a letter to U.S. bishops decrying the Trump/Vance mass deportation plan. He specifically called out J.D. Vance’s twisted citation of Catholic theology in justifying deporting millions of people."The act of deporting people who in many cases have left their own land for reasons of extreme poverty, insecurity, exploitation, persecution or serious deterioration of the environment, damages the dignity of many men and women, and of entire families, and places them in a state of particular vulnerability and defenselessness," reads the pope's Feb. 11 letter (National Catholic Reporter).
