Too Bad If You Hate Your USCIS Officer

Too bad if you hate your immigration officer.

Hi, I'm Jim Hacking, immigration lawyer practicing law throughout the United States at our offices in St. Louis Missouri, San Diego California and Washington D.C. I don't care if you don't like your immigration officer. I don't care if the person sitting across the table from you is the biggest jerk possible. I don't care if they're mean. I don't care if they glare at you. I don't care if they say mean things. I don't care if they attack you. I don't care if you think they're being unfair, if you think that they're being too harsh on you. None of that stuff matters. The only thing that matters is, getting your case approved. You cannot lose your temper. You cannot get mad. You cannot take it personal. You don't know what's going on with these officers. They might be having their own problems at home. They might have gotten in a fight with their spouse. Their kids might be brats and they bring all that baggage when they're sitting across that table from you. You got to deal with it. You got to suck it up. You got to get ready and you got to be pleasant. You got to be nicer. The meaner they are, the nicer you are. The weirder they are, the stronger you are.

You're confident and you're ready to go and you're happy to be there, so it doesn't matter if you don't like your officer. It doesn't matter what their personality is. It doesn't matter if they're too mean or ask questions that are too long. Whatever it is, you're ready. You're there. You're going to get that case approved, so you got to have that mindset. You can't have that mindset, oh poor is me, this mean old officer he's treating me so badly. No, no. No, no, no. That's not us. That's not our warriors. That's not our immigration people. That's not our tribe. We don't go in there asking for help. We don't go in there all scared. We don't go in there resentful. This is it, this is the game. You filed this application. It's time to finish it.

My wife has a great closer and there are many times in my life where I've wanted to give up on something and Amany, my wife, my law partner says "no way, we're finishing this." That's your mentality. Today is the day that we finish this job. I've been waiting for so freaking long to have this officer. I don't care if they have three horns coming out of their head and only one operational eye or if they stick their tongue out at me. I don't care about any of that stuff. I'm here to get my benefit. I'm here to have immigration adjudicate my case and approve it. That's why I'm here and whatever you are, whoever you are, whatever baggage you bring, sitting across from me at that table, I'm ready for it because I'm tougher than you. I've been through too much and I've come too far to give up now, so I don't care if you hate your immigration officer. It's completely irrelevant. Your job is to be pleasant and to answer their questions and to get out of there as quickly as you can. Get your damn case approved.

I hope this makes this sense. 314-9161-8200. That's our phone number. Our email address is [email protected] and you know we have our YouTube channel. You should subscribe to that YouTube channel. We post a video like this every single day and if you sign up for the alerts, you'll get alerted when that happens and then we have our Facebook group. It's called Immigrant Home. We'd love to have you join us. We have over 5,000 numbers as of this recording and there are people in there trading immigration information every single day. Don't forget most Tuesdays and Thursdays you'll find me live at noon Central in Immigrant Home and in our YouTube channel answering as many of your immigration law related questions as possible. Thanks a lot and have a great day.
